Shane Michael Gillis (born December 11, 1987, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) is a bold, unfiltered American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and podcaster known for his dark observational humor, sharp wit, and boundary-pushing style. He began his comedy journey in 2012 with local shows in Pennsylvania. In 2016, he won Philly’s Phunniest at Helium Comedy Club, and that same year launched the hugely popular Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast with Matt McCusker—now one of the top comedy podcasts in the world. Gillis' breakthrough came in 2021 when he self-funded and released his debut special, Shane Gillis: Live in Austin, on YouTube; the special quickly went viral with over 40 million views.
